Project 1

Movie Poster

In this project, we are expected to show hand-painted explanatory skills, such as rendering, lettering and self-expression, through the composition of a movie poster.

Project 2

Farnsworth House

Modelmaking, Orthographic Drawings, Axonometric, and Perspectives are the four sections of the project. We were able to gain a thorough grasp of the architectural detail and spatial values of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Farnsworth House as a result of the research.

Project 3

Presentation Board

With this assignment, we had to refer to our previous project on Farnsworth House and reused the drawing that produced and rendered it into a 2 size presentation board.

Reflection through this module

Through this module, I learned lots of basic knowledge of drawing (shadow and shadow), using composition on a presentation board, and making models.

To be honest, I have never tried any painting class and never painted, and I am very resistant to drawing because my drawing is terrible, but I soon finished watching the videos and finished the exercises assigned by the lecturer and tutor, and slowly I gained confidence in painting. Therefore, I used those skills (shadows) to draw my ideas in AD 1. Surprisingly, the conceptual sketches were very good, and my tutor encouraged me to draw them in AD 1. Therefore, I am grateful that this module taught me how to render/draw. However, my paintings are not good enough, but I would continue to use them and improve them in future.

Although the course is conducted completely online, the lecturer discarded many useful videos in The Times to help us know and understand something more.

The tutor is very kind. She always gave us suggestions and opinions to improve our works and told us to make use of what we have learned in design communication.
