Architecture History and Theory
We are not makers of history. We are made by history.
-
Martin Luther King, Jr.
In this module, students are subjected to the chronological history of ancient architecture ranging from spanning the Neolithic Age to the modern context. Therefore, students will expand their architectural vocabulary, knowledge of various styles and periods, and their respective architectural explanations.

Project 1
Sketching Analysis
We were asked to study and sketch several important historic buildings. Throughout the whole analysis process, we had to use different architectural vocabulary to refer to specific styles, characteristics and periods. Therefore, this analysis was expected to show a clear chronology of building performance.
Project 2
Analysis Report
In this report, students need to make an explanatory booklet describing two historical buildings in Malaysia to clearly show their architectural features and influences. Appropriate architectural vocabulary was expected, and students must consider the influence of various design factors on the final forms of architecture.
Reflection through this module
Through this module, I learned a lot, such as the representative master architects and their characteristics, which are the foundation of architecture, and how these architectural styles influence/improve the industry.
Most of us will felt disappointed when we heard that we need to study at home, but think of the other way, actually study virtually had it pro like we can save the time of being jam in traffic and use that time to complete our revision and understand more about the architecture history itself
Besides, I am glad that I had a responsible tutor who has always noticed us and gave us pieces of advice & suggestion to improve our works.
