Orthographic Drawings of Mini Chalet
For our final assignment, we must make use of our understanding of orthographic projections and transfer the drawing information of three-dimensional space, and realize the imaginary space in the field environment; A space on the top of the lake of Taylor Lakeside Campus. As always, drawing conventions and techniques must be considered.
PROGRESS
After the briefing, I began to plan the layout I wanted to use for the cabin planning. In the end, I chose a typical residential flat structure, which was the dining area in open space, and the bedroom will be the largest space of the cabin. Thankfully, it was accepted in time for the next week without any complications.
-
Like the previous assignment, we were asked to submit a different orthographic projection every week. Once again, I made sure that the schedule was completed in time so that the tutorial could absorb as much critical feedback as possible. Therefore, I made corresponding modifications, such as making clear division for each space and specifying furniture types according to the IKEA catalogue mentioned in the introduction.

After that, I drew the site plan of the mini chalet to be "built", as well as the site background and roof plan. Finally, everything takes into account the thickness of the line and architectural symbols. After the last question and answer tutorial given by the tutor, she reminds us of some of the mistakes to make sure we bear in mind and correct it. After that, I also recheck the things mentioned in the class and correct it before submission.
OUTCOME
This was an exciting assignment for me, as we were allowed to make our design based on our thinking about the structure of the chalet itself. Given the limitations, it was interesting to promote our innovation output, and we can learn a lot of drawing skills and knowledge through this project.
