Simple Measured Drawings
With this task, we must further hone our observation skills by organizing and explaining elements in the selected space. This assignment tests our understanding of basic principles and conventions needed to express three-dimensional space accurately as orthogonal graphics.
PROGRESS
For the first week of the assignment, we need to form a team within 5 to 6 members to measure the space assigned by our lecturer . The space assigned by the lecturer to carry out was Open area at Block E Level 6.
-
For every week of the assignment, we had to produce a pencilled drawing of the different orthographic projections that were required; plan, elevations, section as well as detailed drawings of the chosen space. At the same time, the tutor will get some reviews and the mistake we did.
-
Finally, we had to finish our drawings with felt tip pens. During the tutorial, we had a detailed lecture regarding the importance of line weights and the difference between architectural symbols. Therefore, before putting the pen on the paper, I carefully planned the appropriate line width and the location of architectural symbols. Although I am careful, mistakes always happen, so I use correction tape to correct them. Finally, I end with a title block, which explains all kinds of useful information in detail, including the detailed information of the company and so on.
OUTCOME
In a word, I find this assignment very useful, especially when using appropriate architectural terms, such as dimension lines and information within the title block. I think this assignment has helped me to expand my knowledge of the different types of drawing needed in the world of architecture.
